News & EventsJourney to Casa de Francisco Wine Reception
On Wednesday, September 16th, Immaculate Conception Shelter & Housing Corporation hosted a wine reception celebrating the Journey to the Completion of the Casa de Francisco (CDF) Supportive Housing Complex. Delicious food was enjoyed at The Studio @ Billings Forge, catered by Firebox Restaurant in Hartford, as well as fine wine which was purchased from Crazy Bruce’s Liquors at a generously discounted rate. Aside from participating in the Annual Raffle and Silent Auction, guests had the pleasure of listening to the talented musical stylings of Tierra Mestiza, with a number of speakers sprinkled throughout the evening. Board President, Jacqueline M. Reardon, spoke of the history of Immaculate and what the CDF Supportive Housing Complex means for Immaculate’s future. Ms. Reardon then introduced Immaculate’s new Executive Director, Fred Lynn, who spoke of his vision and hopes for the agency.
Philip F. Mangano, President, The American Round Table To Abolish Homelessness and Former Executive Director of the United States Interagency Council on Homelessness spoke of the impact the CDF Supportive Housing Complex will have on chronically homeless individuals and low-income individuals in the Hartford community. Following Mr. Mangano, Jimmie Harrison, a client of Immaculate who is in one of the scattered site apartments and currently receives case management services, spoke of the many services Immaculate has provided him over the years. Lastly, a great supporter of Immaculate’s, Hartford Mayor Eddie Perez, closed by saying the work Immaculate does is helping to close the gap in Hartford’s 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness.
