Annual Raffle Underway!

Immaculate Celebrates Black History Month
 On February 17, 2010 the Immaculate staff carried on our long tradition of cooking a meal at the shelter in celebration of Black History Month. It was a wonderful evening filled with games, laughter and a special performance by “True to Life,” a Christian Hip Hop duo. Everyone enjoyed the traditional southern “soul food” cooked by our very own staff.
Annual Messiah Concert a Success
The 19th Annual Fundraiser for The Immaculate Conception Shelter was Saturday, January 23rd at Our Lady of Sorrows, Hartford. Music director, Bridget De Moura Castro presented a beautiful concert of Handel’s Messiah, Part 1 & Hallelujah Chorus. Many thanks to all of the wonderful performers! Immaculate received many donations of clothes, as well as generous monetary donations that exceeded our expectations. We’d like to thank everyone who attended and participated in the event.
Journey to Casa de Francisco Wine Reception
 On Wednesday, September 16th, Immaculate Conception Shelter & Housing Corporation hosted a wine reception celebrating the Journey to the Completion of the Casa de Francisco (CDF) Supportive Housing Complex. Delicious food was enjoyed at The Studio @ Billings Forge, catered by Firebox Restaurant in Hartford, as well as fine wine which was purchased from Crazy Bruce’s Liquors at a generously discounted rate.

Casa de Francisco Groundbreaking
 On Thursday, July 2, 2009, a celebration of the symbolic groundbreaking of new construction of Casa de Francisco, a 50-unit, four-story apartment complex on Hungerford Street took place at the construction site in the Frog Hollow neighborhood of Hartford.
Speakers included Board President, Jacqueline Reardon, Hartford Mayor, Eddie Perez, Terry Nash from the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority and Caroline Carlson, Community Planning & Development Program Manager for HUD.
